The Graveyard Fall Lacrosse Tournament, hosted by Big Dog Lacrosse, is back to 7v7 format!!!

This year it’s going to be bigger, faster, and more intense than ever! After 16 incredible years, we’re taking things up a notch with the high-speed, high-energy 7v7 format. Get ready for fast breaks, nonstop action, and edge-of-your-seat excitement!

All games will be played on elite turf fields at the Hall of Fame Village—just steps from the legendary Pro Football Hall of Fame Museum!

Tournament Details

  • Boys & Girls: 7v7 (2A, 2M, 2D, 1G)
  • Field Size: 55×30 yards
  • Goal Size: 6×6 feet (all divisions)
  • Game Guarantee: Every team plays at least 3 games

Divisions

  • A – Competitive (Bracket Play)
  • B – Intermediate (Bracket Play)
  • C – Beginner/New (Round Robin – for players with 2 years or less of experience)

Age Groups

  • Bantam: 2035 – 2036
  • Youth: 2033 – 2034
  • Middle School: 2031 – 2032
  • High School: 2027 – 2030

Game Schedule

  • A Divisions: Play in the morning
  • B & C Divisions: Play in the morning or afternoon, depending on the schedule

Graveyard Rules and Regulations

 

Boys 7v7

Format of 7v7: 2 attack, 2 midfield, 2 defense (3 longpoles are permitted, 2 on man down), 1 goalie (must always have 3 playersbehind defensive mid-line at all times)

 

Girls 7v7

Format of 7v7: 2 attack, 2 midfield, 2 defense, 1goalie

(must always have 3 players behind defensive mid-line at all times)

 

  • Field dimension: 55yds x 30 yds with 6x6 goals.
  • Game: Games will be (2) 20-minute running halves with central horn/clock, 2-minute halftime, no stop time. Game time will NOT stop for time outs, delays, or injuries.
    • Playoff games may be subject to (1) 20-minute running half depending on number of teams in a single division.
    • Championship games will be normal tournament time.
  • Face-off/Draw: Each half and OT begins with a face-off/draw. All players must remain behind the goal line extended and one on the wing with foot touching sideline. The goalie must remain in the crease area until possession is signaled.
    • Boys: All players are released upon whistle.
    • Girls: All players are released upon whistle.
  • Goal Scored: After a goal is scored, the ball is awarded to the scored upon goalie who puts the ball in play. Play will commence upon official’s whistle.
    • Boys: Goalie will resume play with a 4 second count to clear. No free clears.
    • Girls: Goalie will resume play with a 10 second count to clear. No free clears.
    • Girls 3-4 Only: Defense must move to 8M. Play may begin on successful/unsuccessful goalie clear
      Goalie can lay ball on front of crease for a free clear. Play begins when field player touches ball in a successful/unsuccessful scoop.
  • Time Outs: Each team has (1) 30-second time out per half. Time will NOT stop during the time out. NO timeouts in final 2minutes of game or Overtime.
  • Overtime: If teams are tied at the end of regulation. There will be a sudden victory overtime period that begins immediately. Team shall stay on the same side and no coaching is allowed prior to the start of overtime. NO timeouts in OT. Game will extend up to2-minute warning of next game. If game is a tie, a coin flip will be administered.
  • Penalties are regulation time served.
    • Grades3-4 (boys/girls) may substitute for penalized player.
  • Checking
    • Boys – NO BODY CHECKING PERMITTED.
    • Girls
      • 3-4: NO CHECKING
      • 5-6: Modified checking
      • 7-8: Transitional checking
  • There are US Lacrosse Certified officials on all fields. All on-field calls are final.
  • All games will follow current US Lacrosse/NFHS rules and these modifications.
  • All player substitutions are on the fly from the midline area.
  • Home team responsible for score and Away team responsible for penalty time.
  • Home team is dark jersey, Away team is light jersey (if applicable). Home team is bottom of bracket or second team listed.
  • Spectators

    • BOYS– Any player, coach, or spectator using derogatory language on the field or bench when addressing a player, coach or referee may receive a one-minute, non-releasable penalty for the first offense, a two-minute non-releasable for the second offense and expulsion from the tournament for the third offense.
    • GIRLS– Any player, coach, or spectator using derogatory language on the field or bench when addressing a player, coach or referee may receive a yellow card. Third offense will be expulsion from the tournament.
  • Coaches are responsible for their team and parents. All spectators are expected to show good sportsmanship and placed on opposite side of team.
  • If lightning is in area, play will be suspended by 3 long air horn blasts. A 30 – minute delay will go into effect from the last sighting of lightning. Tournament committee will decide if game(s) will be altered or canceled due to weather/lightning. Standard procedure will apply before play is resumed.
